The Gewandhausorchester (Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra; sometimes referred to as Gewandhausorchester Leipzig) is the oldest symphony orchestra in the world. It is named after the concert hall in which it is based, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Germany.
