First may I met him In the town of Shiraz
Violins played away dancing through the night
In my ears he whispered poems of colored passion
all the rubies in the world I would trade them
for his poems How I was mesmerized by his charm
Oceans so blue like his gentle eyes
I was in cloud nine and in heaven
but I would leave him standing by him self

Midnight bells of Shiraz Chimed as I held his
hand In his eye he knew that I would leave
for the last time we kissed kowing that I would
leave like a king he graciously let go
